RESTCOUNT — PET SLEEPING BREATH COUNTER

Privacy

RestCount is still in development and has not been released. This page describes what we collect today — on this website, and in the concept build shown here — and how the finished app is designed to handle your pet’s video. We’ll update it as the product changes.

01

Camera measurement stays on your phone

When RestCount measures a resting breathing rate from your camera, all of that processing happens on your device. The video is never uploaded, streamed, or stored anywhere but your phone. We don’t collect location data, and camera measurement doesn’t require an account.

02

The free count service is a separate channel

The free, one-time human-verified count of a 60-second video is a different, opt-in service: you submit a video, a person reviews it, and you get back one sentence — a count of visible chest-rise cycles in that video, nothing more. Using it is never tied to the $10 deposit or the Founding Pass — requesting a free count doesn’t affect a reservation, and reserving doesn’t require you to submit a video.

Any further, secondary use of a submitted video for research is its own separate, opt-in consent, unchecked by default. You can request a count without agreeing to that.

03

What this website collects

  • Site analytics: a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser, page and funnel events (such as viewing this site or the offer), and a coarse country derived from your network connection — never precise location. We use PostHog to record this.
  • Bot protection: Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form submission is coming from a person, not a script. It sees your IP address only for that check.
  • If you reserve the $10 deposit: Stripe processes the payment. We receive your email address and a payment reference — never your card number, which Stripe holds directly.
  • Deposit confirmation email: we send one confirmation email through Resend, to the address you gave at checkout.
04

Retention and your choices

While we’re in this validation period, we keep the information above only for as long as it’s needed to run the test and honor a reservation. You can clear the browser identifier at any time by clearing this site’s storage. To ask us to delete what we hold about you, or to ask any question about this page, use the contact page.

05

RestCount is not a medical device

RestCount is an informational record-keeping tool. It doesn’t diagnose, treat, or predict anything, and it never replaces a veterinarian. If your pet seems to be struggling to breathe, don’t wait to measure — call your vet or an emergency clinic.

The corporate registration number will be added here as soon as it is confirmed. We’d rather show that gap than fill it with something we haven’t confirmed.
